I'd say that for a person who's mostly color black-minded, this is very much thinking out of the box and very VERY colorful. But I loved shooting this anyway!
And, a little secret, the salmon colored sweater from the last shot is actually my own. I really do own a piece of garment which isn't black!

There's no other way to say this other than that the Dutch weather has been shit*. I missed all oppertunities (like there were so many...) to do shoots with blossom or magnolia trees because one day several weeks of pouring rain causes all tiny flowers to be dropped on the floor instantly.
But, no reason to be sad; because there will be new chances.... Next year.

I haven't had much time to shoot in studio instead either, because I'm preparing everything for Vanitas by Viorella Photography...
I really wish I could release more details regarding Vanitas... But I won't! You'll just have to wait and meanwhile keep an eye out on my Facebook page where all news will be announced.

In other news, June is less than a week away (time flies!) and with or without the launch of Vanitas, I'll have some great stuff to release then anyway.

* Actually, it is really sunny and warm outside while I'm writing this. For the first time since a long, long time I don't have to put the heater on! I want to go work outside! I wish there were such things as portable iMacs... Oh wait. ;)

More photos can be found at my Facebook page.

I met Jolien at the Elf Fantasy Fair a couple of years ago and photographed her a few times there. Jolien makes magnificent and extraordinary outfits; two of my favorite which I had the priviledge to photograph -and which you might remember- are Queen Harbinger of Death (from day 160411 of the PPD project) and the Cherry Blossom Fairy (I used to have the full body photo of this outfit online as well, but as with all of the rest of the photos from the EFF, I took this one down as well).
Jolien designs and makes all her outfits herself so it's no surprise she started selling items as well under her label Fairytas.
If you're a fan of enchanting and ethereal design and styling, you should definitely check out this wonderful lady.

Lady Lament's Journey

I always have my Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet Optic 35 in my camera bag. But not every shoot 'asks' for such a free and unusual approach. However, when I did a shoot with Rosa Duchamp called "Lady Lament's Journey" I finally got the oppertunity to use my Lensbaby lens again. It was a rather difficult task since Maas (the horse Rosa is riding) didn't want to stand still and kept on walking around.

More of this shoot can be found on my Facebook page.

Really can't say anything yet. But hopefully soon I can reveal everything.

Finally, viorella.com 2.0!

www.viorella.com

It took a while... But my new website is finally online!
I never had problems with my old site and really liked it, but for some reason I felt like I had to change (it). I'm a fan of grids and it's no secret either that I always have issues with labeling stuff. So this site is a great solution to that. Instead, you can search tags now in both Dutch and English. For instance, you can look for publication, conceptual or beauty, etc. Or in Dutch publicatie and conceptueel.
I also improved my 'about' section and I think I finally have a proper (but very short, I admit) bio with a picture of myself. Couldn't resist using my awesome Easter self-portrait.

Edit: also, when you click on a photo to view it in full size and you want to go back to the main page -> slimply click anywhere in the white area. When you click on a photoset and want to see the next photo, click on the photo itself!

Also on the site is the full series of She Cray On; including the black and white styled portrait which reached Popular two days ago on 500PX!

In short; discover the site and CLICK AWAY!

Special BIG thanks to Zoe -as usual- for helping me out.
